j. jane Art
I hand paint floral and Mehndi-like designs with non-toxic, eco-friendly acrylic paint on sustainable and unfinished wood jewelry. I also use jewelry findings and beads provided by companies worldwide who practice fair trade and eco-consciousness. My creations include hand painted wood bracelets, rings, key rings, earrings, brooch-like tile pins, refrigerator magnets, and tiny stand alone wood tile paintings, as well as hand painted refillable butane lighters and some cabochon jewelry made from my paintings. I also make a wide array of beaded jewelry: bracelets, charm bracelets, necklaces, earrings, anklets, flapper length necklaces, kid’s and adult rosaries, watches, eyeglass chains, lanyards, key rings, and bookmarks. Despite being Catholic and having a robust line of rosaries, I am non discriminatory and all-inclusive with my art. I have jewelry creations incorporating Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindi, Chinese and Egyptian religious symbology. I like to think of my work as wearable art.
