All of my items that I have made are from recycled wine bottles. The wine bottle napkin holder requires a two step firing process. First the bottle is put thru a 2 step cleaning process and drying process. Then it is fired for 8 hours to 1500 degrees and is complete flat. Then it is fired several days later back to 1500 degrees and placed over a mold to bend it into shape. Then it is decorated with various colored glass beads and wire, all done by hand.
For the wine bottle serving tray, I have taken two wine bottles and placed them side by side and fired for 7 hours to 1456 degree fusing them together.
Then I hand polish and finish the glass beads and hand wire wrapped around the neck of each bottle with various colored wire. Each serving tray comes with a matching knife or fork to complete the set.
I took a wine bottle and applied red glass beads in a grape design pattern. The neck of the bottle was wrapped with wire and a cork was attached for added accent. Metal leaves are applied and finished off with glitter leaves. The back of the bottle has been drilled out so that I may insert a strand of Christmas lights allowing the bottle to be plugged in and turned on.
